If you are like many Texans, BBQ is a serious food group and you expect the pit masters who prepare with their undivided attention. For over 40 years the Hutchins family has produced quality BBQ starting in 1978 with their first location known as Roy’s Smokehouse in Princeton, Texas. They later moved it down the road to McKinney. In 2012 a fire forced them to shut down for several months and remodel. The remodel allowed them to expand and reopen in 2013 to what is now their landmark location on Tennessee Street in McKinney. This is a serious and proud family business that’s producing outstanding BBQ and they have been recognized for doing it for two generations!
From the moment you pull into the parking lot at Hutchins you are greeted with the subtle aroma of their smoking BBQ pits. It’s just part of the ambiance you’ll enjoy once you are inside. There you’ll find menu selections of beef, chicken, pork, fish and the side orders to go with them. This is all served by a staff that is caring, upbeat, and always willing to make your experience one that will satisfy any BBQ aficionado. Oh, did I forget to mention they have warm, homemade peach cobbler and ice cream?
If you are anywhere near Old Downtown McKinney you owe it to yourself to experience Hutchins BBQ located at 1301 North Tennessee Street. I personally believe it’s the best BBQ I’ve had in Texas or anywhere else. I’m not alone, the line of people often waiting to get inside Hutchins BBQ regardless of the weather conditions is strong evidence
